Etha Nell Burns Dotson Ashcraft, 79, of Sanger, passed away at Presbyterian Hospital on Friday. She was born Feb. 28, 1928, in Corinth to Newman Jennings Burns and Willie Mae Squires Burns. She married Amos George Dotson on Dec. 21, 1946, in Gainesville. He passed away March 28, 2003. They were married 56 years and served as missionaries to the American Indians in Arizona for several years. They were members of the Congregational Methodist Church where they held several offices with the church.

She married Earl Ashcraft on Sept. 5, 2004, in Aubrey. They attended the Gribble Springs Baptist Church. They enjoyed each other's company, farming and working their cattle.

She is survived by her husband Earl Ashcraft of Sanger; brothers, Leroy Burns and wife Damaris of Mabank, and Bobby Joe Burns and wife Barbara of Silver City, Nev.; sisters-in-law, Margaret Hale of Krum, Ruth Burns of Globe, Ariz., Kathy Burns of Tucson, Ariz. and Vada Burns of LaPuente, Calif.; and many loving nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers; Billy Bob Burns, J.W. Burns, Philip N. Burns, Jarome Burns, Lula Mae Holcome, and Evadale Burns; and a brother-in-law, Marvin Dotson.

The family will be at DeBerry Funeral Directors Monday night from 6 to 8 p.m. for visitation. Funeral services will be on Tuesday at 10 a.m., in the chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors. Burial will follow at the Roselawn Memor
ial Park in Denton.
