Professional Football Player, Executive. He played at the fullback position for six seasons (1956, 1959 to 1963) in the Canadian Football League with the Calgary Stampeders. His career highlights include two-time winner of the Eddie James Memorial Trophy (1960 and 1961) and two-time All Star selection. During his career, he rushed for 6,994 yards with 55 touchdowns. During his collegiate years, he played at Oklahoma State University and was later chosen by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 26th round of the 1956 NFL Draft. After retiring as a player, Lunsford served as general manager of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers from 1968 to 1982. He was inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame in 1983 and the Winnipeg Football Club Hall of Fame in 1990.
