Teacher, author and historian. Daughter of Walter Lincoln and Eleanor (Walter) Sadler. Wife of Ernest C. Waggoner. Graduate of Elgin High School and Northwestern University where she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority and an editor of the Northwestern Magazine . Her book, "The Long Haul West: The Great Canal Era, 1817-1850" was published in 1958 by Putnam. Mother of two sons: Robert and James Norman. In 1996, she posthumously received the Elgin Heritage Hall of Fame award for her work in preserving Elgin's heritage. She was a founder of the Elgin Area Historical Society. Her brother Walter Clifford Sadler was a noted professor of engineering at the University of Michigan and was mayor of Ann Arbor.
