Gladys C. Umstead Allam, 89, of Gracedale, Upper Nazareth Township, formerly of Country Meadows, Bethlehem, died Sunday, May 31, in Muhlenberg Hospital Center. She was the wife of the late Merritt Allam and Wallace Umstead.
She was a sales clerk for the former Orr's of Bethlehem for many years before retiring. She also worked at the former Almart store, Bethlehem.
Born in East Allen Township, she was a daughter of the late George and Emma (Ziegenfuss) Edwards.
She was a member of Bethany United Church of Christ, Bethlehem, and its peanut makers group.
Survivors: Daughter, Joanne C., wife of Garvin E. Kram of Bethlehem; stepdaughter, Vivian Mills of Hellertown, a granddaughter, a great-granddaughter, two step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Memorial Park Cemetery, Bethlehem. No calling hours. Arrangements, Long Funeral Home, Bethlehem.
