Civil War Vet - Co. B 72nd Inf. Reg. Indiana - enlisted August 9, 1862 Mustered out Nashville, Tennessee July 24, 1865

He was 5'5", dark complexion, black hair, gray eyes.
Three years (CW) with Wilder's Brigade.

Boyd lived in Mace, IN. was in 1870 census Franklin Twp. Montgomery Co., IN.

In 1890 Census lived in Polk Co., Ne. and in Osceola, Polk Co., NE, in 1889.

After War, lived in Indiana, Iowa, Nebraska. Was treated by a Dr. Kitchen in Vandalia IA., at one time after his discharge.

He received a pension from Civil War.

His Obit mentions only Emma and says he outlived his second wife. He was on his way to a reunion of Wilder's Brigade at Frankfort when he fell ill, and died at the Train Station.
