Sibby M. (Wright) Runyon, 84, of Anderson, went to be with her Lord and Savior Aug. 1, 2008.
She was born Feb. 11, 1924, in Portsmouth, Ohio, the daughter of Albert and Rissie (Curtis) Wright, and moved to Anderson in 1980.
On Nov. 2, 1941, Sibby married James V. Runyon.
She had worked in Ohio as head cook for Swauger Valley Grade School and retired from Home Health Care Services after eight years.
She was a member of Cross Roads United Methodist Church and was a loving mother and grandmother known for her flowers and for being a wonderful cook.
Survivors include two daughters, Anna Stapleton and Vicki (husband, Charles) Hurt, all of Anderson; grandchildren, Michael (Sandy) Stapleton, Marty (Lisa) Stapleton, Melissa (Jon) Davis, Anthony (Sloan) Hurt, Jason (Cheryl) Hurt, Blaine (Ginger) Hurt; great-grandchildren, Michael and Martin Stapleton, Matthew Stapleton, Erin Davis, Ryan and Brittney Davis, Jacey Hurt, Abby and Erica Hurt, Colton Hurt, Kristi, Thomas and Kassi Ogle; great-great-grandchildren, Tanyia, Sev-ion, Kyra, Joey and Nickalous; sister, Ruby (husband, Bob) Corriell of Minford, Ohio; sister-in-law, Anna Mae Runyon of Portsmouth, Ohio; several nieces and nephews; and her very special friend, Mary Emma Taylor.
Sibby was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four brothers; and three sisters.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home, 515 E. 53rd St., Anderson, officiated by the Rev. John Hackney. Burial will take place at Maplewood Cemetery.
