WENATCHEE - Mary Opal Chester, 75, Wenatchee, died Sunday, April 9, 1995, at her home.

She was born Sept. 26, 1919, to Mr. and Mrs. Addie (Harris) Colquitt in Arkansas, where she was educated.

She married Lawrence J. Chester on Sept. 3, 1938, and they made their home in Burlington, N.C. They moved to Memphis, Tenn., in 1942, where her husband worked in defense plants. They moved to Arkansas in 1947 and to Chelan in 1952. She worked for various fruit warehouses and in fruit sheds.

They owned and operated an orchard, beginning in 1965 in Orondo. They moved to East Wenatchee in 1978, following his retirement.

Mrs. Chester was a member of the Cashmere Seventh-day Adventist Church and more recently, the Valley View Church of Seventh-day Adventist Church in East Wenatchee.

Survivors include one son, Larry, Tacoma, and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband on Sept. 20, 1985, and one sister.
