Funeral services for Merle Seitter Rinehart will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 22 at Hinton Church of Christ with James Cudd officiating. Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. in the Geary Cemetery. Services are under direction of Turner Funeral Home, Geary.

Mrs. Rinehart died June 20 at the Weatherford Assisted Living Center in Weatherford. She was born Nov. 30, 1918, in Caddo County near Lookeba. She graduated from Geary High School in 1937. For many years she was the bookkeeper for Ringleman’s IGA Store. She was active in the Social Hour Club, The Cemetery Board and Blaine County Historical Society. She was a founding member of the Genealogy Club of Geary and the Canadian Rivers Museum. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ.

She is survived by a son, Robert of Geary; daughter, Donna Kerr of Catoosa; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Merle was born in Caddo County, near Lookeba, November 30,1918, to William and Grace Seitter.

Merle was the 7th of 9 children. Merle died Thursday, June 20, 2013 at the Weatherwood Assisted Living Center in Weatherford, OK at the age of 94.

Shortly after her birth, the family moved to a farm Northwest of Geary. She attended Canadian Valley Schools and graduated from Geary High School in 1937. While in school she was active in softball and 4-H club. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ.

For many years she was the bookkeeper for Ringleman's IGA Store. On August 22, 1953 she married Dalton Rinehart in Oklahoma City. Merle was active in the Social Hour Club, The Cemetery Board, Blaine County Historical Society. She was a founding member of the Genealogy club of Geary and the Canadian Rivers Museum.

In 1976 she was active in the publication of the Bi-Centennial book of Blaine County families, later she and her sister Noby Kennedy, co-authored the book, Gone but Not Forgotten, detailing the gravesites of Geary Area Citizens.

Merle was proceeded in death by her parents, William and Grace Seitter, all of her siblings; Her husband Dalton Rinehart of Geary; a granddaughter Rebecca Kerr of Tulsa.

Merle is survived by her son Robert and wife Susan of Geary, Granddaughter Amy and husband Don, of Elreno. Granddaughter Sarah and husband Davey of Geary. Great grand children Chariti, Remi, Morgan, Dalton.

She is also survived by a daughter, Donna Haworth Kerr and husband Jerry of Catoosa Ok, Grandson Rodger Kerr, Tulsa, Granddaughter Robyn Kerr Moore and husband Greg, Texas. Great-granddaughters, Elizabeth and Emily Moore, Texas, a host of nieces and nephews and friends.
