It is my honor to visit your Memorial, Mr Hart. You could have lived an easy life with your wife and 13 children had you taken the British's offer to renounce your beliefs of your visions for the United States of America, but YOU WOULD NOT. Your refusal cost you your life and the loss of your family and other loved ones. How desperately we need men like you today. We thank you for your sacrifices. God bless.
- In your debt.

Dear John, Thank you for helping start this Great Nation. You are my 5th Great Grandfather on my Mothers side: Alby Plant Horton Jardine. She taught us 4 kids and all the grandchildren all about you. We are so proud of your accomplishments and your huge sacrifices. If I were born a boy, I would have been given your name. I am going to plan a visit from San Diego, CA to Hopewell NJ to visit your grave and your farm. Rest IN Peace Honest John! xoxoPS: Would be so fun to have other descendants meet up there. I see several here! Hello to all my distant relatives! :)

My parents owned a farm in Connersville, IN Their neighbor was a descendant of yours. She greeted us in her peony garden. She had a quilt with your name embroidered on the back of a square. She told us of your sacrifices for our country. The beautiful quilt was wrapped in tissue paper and stored for safe keeping. We spent a splendid afternoon with her. Thank you.

Dear Mr. Hart, Though I am ever so distantly related, I am honored to have you in my family tree. As a signer of the Declaration of Independence, you endure persecution like the others: " John Hart was driven fron his wife's bedside as she was dying . Their 13 children fled for their lives. His fields and his grist mill were laid to waste. For more than a year he lived in forests and caves. returning home to find his wife dead..."I honor your commitment to the cause of liberty. May you rest in peace.
