Frank Royal Smith is the son of William and Sarah Matchett Smith. Born 1-31-1868 in Pine Hill Wisconsin. He is the brother of Martin W. and "GRC" George Robert Chase Smith. Shortly after his birth they moved to Tomah Monroe Wisconsin where he grew up and went to school until 1886 when he attended University of Minnesota He served as the Captain of the Baseball team in 1888. On December 15,1893 He married Jesse H Overbaugh Smith In Mystic Iowa. By 1895 He and Jessie are living in La Crescent MN. Their children are Donnelly 1894, Grace 1897,Sarah 1900,William E 1905 , Morris Train Powell Smith 1907.He worked for his fathers company Wm. Smith Grubber Company in La Crescent and wrote many articles on Agriculture and Politics of the time. In 1939 they moved West to Kessler Lewis and Clark Montana. and by 1944 they had moved to Portland Oregon. He died 1947 at his daughter Sarah Harriet Smith Weeks Home in Corvallis Oregon.
