She was born on October 29, 1905, the daughter of the late Carl J. and Wilhelmina (Janson) Ahlberg
She retired in 1975 from the Hotel Roosevelt in New York City where she worked in the front office.
Prior to her retirement she was a telephone operator and hotel operator.
She also worked at the New York World's Fair in 1939-1940.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lanse and a member of the National Council of Senior Citizens and was a partner of the Special Olympics of Pennsylvania.
On July 22, 193 she wed the late John Seldes, who died Nov. 18, 1961.
She is survived by one sister, Ann W. Johnson of Olean, NY and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Theobert Ahlberg, Melvin R. Ahlberg, Richard A. Ahlberg, and Everett C. Ahlberg; and four sisters, Agnes O. Carlson, Esther E. Carlson, Lily M. Nelson, and Amelia H. Lucas.
Funeral Services will be held at Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lanse, on Monday, May 12, 2008 at 11:00 am with Pastor James Fraser officiating.
Intrment will be in Lanse Evangelical Free Church Cemetery.
Friends will be received at Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lanse, on Sunday, May 11, 2008 from 7 until 9 pm.
The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, PO Box 218, Grassflat, PA 16839 or to Clearfield Hospital Hospice, PO Box 992, Clearfield, PA 16830.
Arrangements are under the direction of David K. Dahlgren Funeral Home, 228 N. Centre St. Philipsburg, PA.
