She was the wife of the late Carl W. Dachs, who died in 1991. A longtime resident of East Frederick Street in Lancaster, she had worked as a weaver at the former Stehli Silk Mill.
Stella was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church, and she had been an active member of the former Bethany United Methodist Church.
Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Philip G. and Mabel Steinman Winters. While growing up, she worked on the Winters family farm near Strasburg.
She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Suzanne D., wife of William A. Trapnell, of Mountville; two grandchildren, Stephen Trapnell, husband of Jeanne Marie Rose, Lancaster, and Valerie A., wife of H. David Loughery, Columbia; and twin great-granddaughters, Alyssa and Lianna Mowrer. Also surviving are four sisters: Ethel Hess, Ocala, FL; Pearl Hostetter, Lancaster; Betty Rineer, Lampeter; and Dorothy Huber, Willow Street. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mabel Hurst, and Mary Harman, who died September 2007 at the age of 102; and three brothers: Harry, Lester and Roy Winters.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Stella's Life Celebration service at the funeral home of Fred F. Groff, Inc., 234 W. Orange Street, Lancaster, PA, on Monday, May 5, 2008 at 10:00AM with the Rev. Robert Zimmerman officiating. The family will receive friends at Groff's on Monday from 9:30AM until time of service.
