 Oscar Hammerstein and Richard Rogers were members of Pi Lambda Phi Fraternity. The fraternity was founded in 1895 at Yale, as the first general college fraternity that was non-sectarian and nondiscriminatory. Both men were recognized by Pi Lambda Phi for their brilliance by receiving the Big Pi Award which is awarded for high achievement in various areas of endeavors.
