R. Lee McCaw, 43, died July 9 at his Anchorage residence. A memorial gathering was held at Mr. McCaw's home. His ashes were scattered among the lilacs in his garden and at Eagle Rock at Alyeska where he enjoyed skiing.

Mr. McCaw was born Jan. 3, 1951, in Hammond, Ind. He received his bachelor of arts degree from the University of Indiana, and had been working on his master's in administration at the Universi 1971 to 1980. He came to Alaska in 1983 and worked for the Federal Aviation Administration in Glennallen and Anchorage until March of this year. Mr. McCaw received numerous awards from the FAA and had been active in, and a board member of, the 4 A'sdlay tennis with friends. According to his family, "He enjoyed life and was a very generous and loving person. He had friends on every continent of the world, and will be greatly missed by all who loved him."

Mr. McCaw is survived by his mother,-law, Barbara Crawford and Kelly McCaw of Schaumberg, Ill., Vicki and Patricia of Hammond, Ind., and Kimberly and Gary Burchett of Batavia, Ill.; his brother, Shawn of Hammond; four nieces and nephews, a god-son, and his companion, Carrell Watson of AnchorAnchorage, 99501. Arrangements were by Evergreen Memorial Chapel.
