Andrew Leslie Cameron, 19, of Salem and formerly of Carthage, NY, began his journey in Heaven on Friday, April 18, 2008. Cameron was the beloved son of Mr. & Mrs. Gary Cameron. He graduated from Salem High School in 2007, was employed by Merchant's Tire & Auto Center on Peters Creek Road, and had begun the process of joining the U.S. Marine Corps. He enjoyed the great outdoors, spending time with his many friends, and playing the guitar. Cameron will live on forever in the hearts of those he touched. Nothing loved is ever lost, and he was loved so very much. In addition to his parents, his surviving family also includes his loving brother, Ryan Cameron, of Salem; paternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. William Cameron, of Carthage, NY; maternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Edward A. Widrick, of Charlotte, NC; great-grandmothers, Theresa Lehman of Florida and Irene Cameron of Carthage, NY; and great aunts, great uncles, aunts, uncles, and cousins. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 21, 2008 from 6 to 9 p.m. in the John M. Oakey & Son Chapel. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at 1 p.m. at Fort Lewis Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park. The Rev. Leonard Southern will officiate. The Cameron family is being served by John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem.
