Born in Alabama to John C Harris and Amanda "Mandy" Catherine McCombs/Harris/Harris, the family moved to Tahlequah, Oklahoma in the late 1890's. In 1900 census it showed living in Tahlequah, OK. Arthur married Maebell Richardson and had children: John David, Joseph R, James L, Helen and Jasper "Jay" Ed. 2nd wife Lilly, 2 step daughters Mrs Honor Vaughn and Flora Lee Howell, a step son, Larkin P Howell and seven grandchilden when he died.
