Private Thomas L. Hinkson, a laborer from Middletown, Pa. Enlisted at age 23 on Sept. 23, 1861, for 3 yrs.; in Company G, 97th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry . He was discharged on surgeons certificate at the U. S. Hospital on Dec. 10, 1863.

His death certificate says he was 39 when he died of " Consumption" and was buried in the Glenwood Cemetery, Philidelphia on March 2, 1878. The burials in this cemetery were reinterred in the Glenwood Memorial Cemetery in 1938.
