Funeral services for Raymond Allen of rural Congerville, 50, who was found dead Friday afternoon at his home, were held in the Otto-Argo Funeral Home in Eureka with Rev. L.P. Flynn in charge. Burial was in the Princeville Cemetery.
He was born June 12, 1917, in Peoria County, the son of William and Della Camp Allen.
Surviving are two brothers, Ernest Chester of Rutland and Berwin of Deer Creek, and a sister, Mrs. Harley Hartter of Eureka. A brother preceded him in death.
He was a special deputy, night jailer, and radio dispatcher for the Woodford County sheriff’s office.
He was a member of Loyal Order of Moose, Bloomington Lodge 6609, and Eureka Sportsman’s Club.
Mr. Allen, son of the late Della Camp Allen, is a nephew of Mrs. Mary DeBord, Mrs. Effie Schelkopf, Mrs. Frances Hoag, and James and William Camp and was well known here.
