Fourteen-year-old Misty was an excellent student who loved her family. She enjoyed playing softball, basketball and volleyball at her school. She went with a friend to the fair in Puyallup, Washington, and they had a great time. But when it was time to go home, her friend left with a boyfriend that Misty didn't trust, so she said she'd take a bus. When she discovered she'd missed the bus, she then decided to walk back to her neighborhood in Spanaway. It was September 17, 1992. She never arrived home, and has not been seen again. Her family reported her missing, and a search began. Nearly four months later, investigators discovered her clothing in the same general vicinity where the bodies of two other girls were found. They believe the three cases may be related. The homicides of the two other girls remain unsolved, and they and Misty are believed to be victims of a serial killer. Though a death certificate was finally issued for her in 2000, Misty was never found, and this is her only resting place.
