Loyce Brown Jones, A retired teacher with the Ascension Parish school system and a resident of Brusly, she died at 3:20 a.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2008, at Ollie Steele Burden Manor. She was 65 (DOB-22Feb.1943) and a native of Brusly. Visiting at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, Brusly, religious service, conducted by the Rev. Michael A. Otkins Sr. Interment in the church cemetery. She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Deron and Shantell Jones, of Baton Rouge, and Desmond Jones, of Brusly; two sisters, Shirley Ann Brown and Linda Morton, both of Brusly; a sister-in-law, Brenda Brown, of White Castle; a brother and sister-in-law, Oliver and Harriet, of Baton Rouge; three grandchildren, Desiree Jones, of Denham Springs, and Dorian and Sheridan Jones, both of Baton Rouge; an uncle, Wallace Anderson Jr., of Brusly; an aunt, Mary Tag, of Seattle; devoted cousins, Lawrence and wife Georgia Breaux, of Brusly, and Doretha and husband David Knight, of Port Allen; a godchild, Nolan R. Brown; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including special friends Virge Anderson, Carolyn Brown, Lillie Harrison, Shirley Hebert and Gail Spriggs, all of Brusly, and Delores Morgan, of Port Allen. She was preceded in death by her father, Alfred Brown; mother, Rebecca Anderson; brother, Alfred Brown Jr.; paternal grandparents, William Brown and Albertha Brown James; maternal grandparents, Wallace and Martha Bynum Anderson; and a nephew, Gregory Patton. She was a 1961 graduate of Cohn High School. She received her bachelor of science degree in physical education from Grambling State University in 1965 and a master's of education degree plus 30 credit hours from Southern University in 1972. She was a past member of the Zodiac Civic and Social Club. Arrangements by Hall Davis & Son Funeral Home.
