Your memory lives on 340 years after your death. When the threat for their lives became too severe due to the animosity between the early settlers and the Native peoples, the family took refuge in the garrison. Their land was a particularly favourite place for the Native peoples to hang out. He had gone back home to gather a few items (family lore says a cheese hoop) and was accompanied by his dog for protection. He was followed by some Native peoples when leaving and hid in a tree, but the dog gave him away. He was killed and buried where he died. - Obtained from: https://ia802707.us.archive.org/16/items/babbittfamilyhis00brow/babbittfamilyhis00brow.pdf
