GAINESVILLE - LC "Pete" Landers owner of Landers Retail Wholesale Grocery in Vernon for 26 years died Thursday at a Gainesville hospital.

He was 82.

Funeral will be at 10 am today at Clement-Keel Funeral Home in Gainesville Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Paris.

Mr Landers was born in Caviness. He was an Army veteran and a member of the Church of Christ

Survivors: Wife, Etta Landers of Gainesville; son, Jerry Leonard Landers of Lewisville; two daughters, Betty Joyce Goodnight of Dallas and Sharon Sink of Wichita Falls; four stepsons, Don Felihkatubbee of Antlers Okla, Glen Felihkatubbee of Ballinger, Perry Felihkatubbee of Ingleside, and Billy Maxey of Plano; stepdaughter, Rosie Lee Couch of Antlers Okla; sister, Helen Arthur of Crystal City; 22 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Pete Landers was the son of Thomas Franklin and Georgia Russelle Mathis Landers.

He married Pearl Jewel Taylor on 19 May 1929 in Hugo, Oklahoma. Their children were Betty Joyce and Billy Wayne.

After their divorce he married Ruthie Ray Ashley 13 Aug 1941 in Hobart, Oklahoma.

Pete ran a grocery store on N. Main St. in Paris many years. Landers Grocery.
