Hazel was a homemaker and member of the Ringgold Baptist Church in Somerset. She was born on Saturday, August 29th, 1914 in the Naomi community of Pulaski County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Jerome Tarter and Bessie Halcomb Tarter. Hazel enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family and friends. She was a joy to all who knew her and is truly missed by everyone in the community.
Hazel was survived by her second husband, Estill F. Weaver, whom she married on March 22nd, 1985 and whom later departed this life on October 16th, 1997; three daughters, Sue (and Vern) Stringer and Janice Leigh, both of Somerset, Kentucky, and Barbara (and Ron) Slagle of Matthews, Indiana; four sons, Sam "Bud" (and Sue) Bogle of Matthews, Indiana, Robert Frank Bogle and Donald R. (and Pam) Bogle, both of Muncie, Indiana, and Jerry Wayne (and Alfreda) Bogle of Somerset, Kentucky; four brothers, Roscoe Tarter, Everette Tarter, Dennis Tarter and Wiley Jerome Tarter; six sisters, Pauline Chadwell, Irene Young, Edna Burton, Catherine Bradley, Mina Marcum and Melva Dick; eighteen grandchildren; twentyfour great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends who mourn her passing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jerome and Bessie Tarter; her first husband, Samuel Lewis Bogle, whom she married on December 25th, 1935, and who departed this life on May 26th, 1980.
Funeral services were held in the Chapel of Lange and New Brothers Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 7th, 1996, with Bros. Andy Sexton and Jackie Dykes officiating.
Burial followed in the Oak Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Somerset, Kentucky.
