Jim Blevins, 70, of Rt. 2, Oneida, passed away Wednesday afternoon, April 2, at the Scott County Hospital.
He was the son of the late Shade Blevins and the late Polly Crabtree Blevins and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Grace Blevins; a son, Tony Blevins; three brothers; and two sisters.
Mr. Blevins was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church and Oneida Lodge #695, F &AM, having been a member for more than 25 years.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ola Blevins of Rt. 2, Oneida; two sons: Homer Blevins of Winchester, O., and Harold Blevins of Dayton, O.; three daughters-in-law; a sister, Margie Burks of Jamestown; two brothers: Oby Blevins of Jamestown, and Lora Blevins of Oneida; several nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 5, at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Oneida, with Rev. Dale Smith and Rev. Roy Blevins officiating. The Bethlehem Baptist Church Choir sang. Burial was in the Hazel Valley Cemetery. A Masonic service was conducted Friday evening in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home. Pallbearers were: Charlie Douglas, Paul King, Robert E. Smith, Kelly Terry, Prent Blevins, Arthur Smith, Phillip Smith, and William White. West-Murley Funeral Home of Oneida in charge of arrangements.
