Deceased was born in Pennsylvania and when but a boy removed with his parents to River Falls, Wisconsin, where the years of his Youth were spent. On July 4, 1877, he was married to Elizabeth Rachael Hayes. The result of this union is four children, who with the mother Mourn the loss of husband and father, in the spring of 1882 he came to Dickey County and located on a quarter section of land a few Miles west of town. Removing to town he followed the blacksmithing business, which occupation he continued until the time of his death. The funeral obsequies were conducted by Rev. P.P. Farmer last Monday, and the remains were interred in the Ellendale Cemetery
