Mr. Edmands leaves to mourn his loss his aged wife, one son, Chas. H. Edmands, three daughters, Mrs. Hannah Hill, of this city, Mrs. John S. Fleming of Santa Fe, N.M., and Mrs. Susan J. Warren, of Dowlis, Kan. With these also are his step-daughter, Mrs. Capt. C. Hopkins, and step-son, Thomas J. Dennis of Chicago. The descendants of Mr. Edmands number over 100 people, extending to great-grandchildren, by all of them he was truly beloved. Some years past Mr. Edmands lost his sight, but has borne his affliction with manly fortitude. Although connected with no church organization, his aid and encouragement have been given to the Universalist church, of which his wife was a member, living always the life of a God-fearing man, with true respect and faith in the Christian religion. To his aged wife with whom he has lived in true affection for fifty-nine happy years, and who must so keenly feel this separation, to other bereaved children and friends the Register extends its heartiest sympathy and speaks for the community in which he was so well known and so highly respected.
The funeral will take place at 2 o'clock Saturday, Jan. 14, from the residence, 222 East Monroe street. IL State Register, Springfield, IL 1-13-1888
