HAVANA, IL - Earl N. Showalter, 88, of RR 2, Havana, died at 12:40 p. m. Tuesday, December 21, 1976 in Mason District Hospital.

He was born in Chandlerville Nov. 21, 1888, a son of Joshua Edmund Showalter and Mary Jane Davis Showalter. He married Fannie Winifred Edlin October 25, 1909 in Havana, Mason County, Illinois. They had six children: Freda Mildred, Clyde Earl, Berneda Ethel, Nelda Viola, Wayne Nolan and Lyle Edwin Showalter.

Surviving are two sons, Clyde of Peoria and Lyle of La Puente, Calif.; and three daughters, Mrs. Freda Nellinger of Peoria, Mrs. Berneda Potts of Seattle, Wash., and Mrs. Nelda Howard of Galesburg. Also surviving are 22 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and one brother of Petersburg.

Mr. Showalter was a member of the Baptist Church.

Services were at 2 p. m. Thursday, December 23 at Hurley Funeral Home. Burial was in Kilbourne Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Mason District Hospital.
