Norfolk - Services for DeeAnn L. Ames, 58, of Norfolk will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Christ Lutheran Church. Services will also be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Calvary United Methodist Church in Lincoln with burial at Wyuka Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Thursday at Home for Funerals in Norfolk.
She died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2007 at her home.

DeeAnn was born on March 3, 1949, in Lincoln, the daughter of Harold and Bernice (Clark) Hermonie. She was baptized and confirmed at the Evangelical United Brethren Church of Lincoln. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1967 and worked at the State Historical Society until 1973.
She married David Ames on May 1, 1971, at the Evangelical United Brethren Church. She then worked as a para professional at Lincoln East High School, working with special need students.
IN August 1989, they moved to Norfolk, where she worked at ESU 8 East Learning Center as a para professional iwth special need students until 2006. She had the privilege to work with and teach the special children that made her life wonderful and exciting.
It was exciting for DeeAnn to watch her children grow into wonderful and caring and Christian adults with families of their own.
She loved watching and playing with her grandchildren, traveling with her husband and spending holidays with her family.
She enjoyed spending time going antiquing, playing cards, crocheting and camping.
She is survived by her husband, David, her mother, Bernice Hermonie; two sons and their families, Bradley and Suzanne Ames and their daughter, Emily, and Kevin and Jennifer Ames and their children, Alexa and Laikon; one brother Harold David Hermonie, all of Norfolk.
She was preceded in death by her father in 1997.
