Memorial services for Dale (David) Julian, 58, were at 11 a.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church, in Ardmore, Oklahoma with the Rev. Ron Carroll officiating. Interment was at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Hopkins County, Sulphur Springs, Texas.

The son of J.W. and Myrtle O. Chester Julian, he was born Dec. 2, 1939, at Sulphur Bluff, Texas. He died Nov. 12, 1997, at an Oklahoma City hospital following a train-truck accident.

Dale Julian was reared and educated in Sulphur Springs, Texas. He completed one year of college before enlisting in the United States Army in 1962. He served four tours of duty in Vietnam and was honorably discharged as a captain in 1974. Dale then began driving semitractor-trailers for various companies, as well as working in the oil fields. He had most recently been working for Ellsworth Motor Freight Lines.

Survivors include three brothers, Ray and Jay W., both of Sulphur Springs, Texas; and Hoyle, Klondike, Texas; five sisters; Maxyne Heimgartner and Gay Hopkins, both of Dallas, Texas; Nadine Drake, Farmersville, Texas; Melba Blount, Sulphur Springs, Texas; and Gale Julian Blair, Fort Worth, Texas. Dale Julian is also survived by one son, Steven O'Hara.

Services were under the direction of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home.
