Born in Newberry, Fla., she was a lifetime resident of the area. She was church secretary at First Baptist Church of Newberry for 29 years, and a graduate of Newberry High School. Mrs. Hoyt was a member of Lake Butler Singles Association, the church choir, and First Baptist Church of Newberry. She loved shopping. She also worked for the Bank of Newberry for 14 years prior to working at the church.
Living relatives include her daughter, Tami Hoyt of Trenton, sons Terry Hoyt of Trenton and Scott Hoyt of Ormond Beach, sister Jan Chalmers of Madeira Beach, and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Hoyt.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 18, 2005 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Newberry with Dr. Michael O'Carroll officiating. Burial was in Newberry Cemetery. Visitation was held Tuesday, May 17 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Milam Funeral Home in Newberry.
