Leamon was the son of John Alexander ("Elic") Armstrong and Nettie Talley, the husband of Ruth Elizabeth Rooks, and the father of James Armstrong.

OBITUARY FROM THE LEAF-CHRONICLE, CLARKSVILLE, TN, APRIL 10, 2002:

Leamon Armstrong, 82, Stewart, died Monday, April 8, 2002, at Henry County Medical Center.

The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at the Anglin Funeral Home in Dover. Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. The Masonic Service will be held 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be at Lane Cemetery.

Mr. Armstrong was born June 27, 1919, in Hohenwald, the daughter [sic] of John A. and Nettie Talley Armstrong.

He worked at GNW Tools and was a member of the Masons and Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Armstrong a son, James Armstrong of Westland, Mich a brother, James Armstrong, Leroy, Mich three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
