Under her leadership the Post published numerous landmark articles, including the Pentagon Papers which detailed the full extent of US involvement in Indochina back to the late 1940s, and later the articles that blew the lid off the Watergate break-in and led to President Nixon's resignation. She was the first female to head a Fortune 500 company. In 1997 she published her memoir, "Personal History", which became a bestseller and won the Pulitzer Prize for biography.
