Myrtle Fay Cross Williams was born in Greenville, Texas; the daughter of Myrtle D. and Lyda LaPatra Wood Cross. She married George Carl Williams in June, 1937. They had two daughters, Myrtle Carlene and Wynona May. She and G. C. lived in many Texas towns while he was working in the oil fields. For a while, they farmed near Anson, Texas. Before G. C.'s retirement they lived in Midland, Texas, where they owned a small fleet of trucks which hauled heavy oilfield equipment. After retirement, they returned to Gause.
