| Today I have reached the exact age at which dear Winnie died (25,144 days). Remembering her, and so sorry she could not have stayed with us for much longer. I always pay tribute to her and her wonderful music in my own piano performances, and thank her for being my total inspiration since I was 10 years old.  Special memories of dear Winnie on her Birthday today - she would almost certainly have been 96. I sent her birthday greetings for many years on this date and received charming handwritten replies. I have no idea where the incorrect date of 27 February, stated in Wikipedia and elsewhere, came from - most certainly Winnie did not die the day after her birthday, but two months before she would have been 69. If anyone knows how to correct this information, I should be so grateful on Winnie's behalf. I played a medley of her hits in a show last week, and of course mentioned her imminent birthday. She was definitely born on 27 April (and not in February, as wrongly recorded in Wikipedia,etc.), but was always rather shy about giving her age.
