Guy E. Bray, Of Laurel, Dies
LAUREL--Guy E. Bray, 76, retired Laurel painter and decorator, died Tuesday morning in a Laurel nursing home.
Mr. Bray was born Feb. 6, 1889, in Vinton County, Ohio, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry O. Bray.
He homesteaded in the Laurel area in 1907.
June 15, 1910, he married Vada Wheeler in Pawnee City, Neb. Until 1922 he worked as a painter-foreman for the Northern Pacific Railroad.
He was a self-employed painter and decorator.
Mr. Bray was a member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors include the widow of Laurel; a son, Clyde of Laurel; two daughters, Mrs. Morgan P. Hopkins of Downey, Calif., and Mrs Leslie Collins of Compton, Calif.; four brothers, Thomas of Longview, Wash., Walter of Tacoma, Wash., Wilfred of Nusbo, Kan., and Emmett of Trona, Calif.; four sisters, Mrs. Rilla Borror of Columbus, Ohio, Mrs. Jess Canright of El Cajon, Calif., and Mrs. Cora Gilles and Mrs. Roscoe Shay, both of Laurel; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday in Laurel Methodist Church with the Rev. Don I. Smith officiating. Burial will be in Laurel Cemetery with Cashmore Memorial Chapel in charge of arrangements.
