Dora Martha Everhart Dodson, 74, formerly of Amarillo died Monday, July 15, 2002, in Dumas.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Llano Cemetery with the Rev. Marvin James, minister of Family Life of First Christian Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle.

Mrs. Dodson was born Dec. 17, 1927, in Ransom, Kan., at the family home. She graduated from Phillips High School and attended West Texas State College in Canyon.

Before moving to Amarillo she had lived in Perryton, Lubbock and Dumas. While a resident of Dumas, she owned Scott's Hallmark Store and the Montgomery Ward catalog store. She was a homemaker and member of First Christian Church of Amarillo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Parker Everhart and Lena Blanche Maranville Everhart.

Survivors include a daughter, Debbie Farnum and husband, Bill, of Austin; a son, Scott Dodson and wife, Judy, of Channing; four grandchildren, Kathryn Whitaker and husband, Scott, of Westfield, Ind.; Daniel Farnum of Gainesville, Fla.; and Sarah Dodson and Anna Dodson, both of Channing; and a great-grandchild, Will Whitaker of Westfield.

The family suggests memorials be to Humane Society, 3501 S. Osage St., Amarillo, TX 79103; or a favorite charity.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
