Milton Hopwood was born in Bedford, Trimble County, Ky., Nov. 16, 1823, died at Otisco, April 12, 1899, aged 75 years, 4 months, 26 days. He was married to Emaline Banks, March 10, 1842. To them were born ten children, nine of whom survive him. His wife died some eleven years ago. He was a member of the Christian Church for 55 years. The funeral services at the Christian Church, New Washington, April 14, were conducted by Rev. Geo. D. Beer, assisted by Rev. Tone. Interment was in the upper cemetery.

I have never seen one piece of primary source information that would suggest that his name is anything other than Milton Hopwood, tax records, deeds, marriage records, death records, census records ALL give his full name as Milton Hopwood, if someone can show me documentation to prove otherwise, please show me. [The marriage record for Maggie Hopwood who married William Osborne is a secondary source and the only ONE that shows that name, so I truly doubt the validity of it.]
