REVEREND MONSIGNOR CLESME JOSEPH (C.J.) ALLEMAN, JR. died on Thursday, July 10, 2003. He was 80 years old. PID by his parents Beulah Mary (nee Alegre) (1902-2000) and Clesme Joseph Alleman, Sr.
Survived by: cousins, Harriet Soap, and A. G. Alegre, both of Nederland, Texas; Clifton Alegre, Sr., and G. A. Alegre, both of Woodville, Texas; and Laura McLawn, of Lufkin, Texas.
Msgr. Alleman was ordained a Roman Catholic priest for the Diocese of Galveston-Houston on May 25, 1949. He served the Church as assistant pastor of St. Theresa Church, Houston (1949), as pastor of St. Gregory the Great Church, Houston (1961) and as rector of St. Mary Cathedral Basilica, Galveston from 1974 until his retirement in 1992.
Vigil for the Deceased was held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 11th at St. Mary Cathedral Basilica. 2011 Church Street, Galveston, Texas. Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 12th at St. Mary Cathedral Basilica. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Cemetery in Port Arthur, Texas.
