Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 17, 2007, at a 2:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial in St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Lafayette, for Juanita "Miss Bee" Sonnier Babineaux, 71, who passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 13, 2007 at her residence in Lafayette.
Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
Reverend Donald Pousson, Pastor of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Morse, Louisiana, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Giftbearers will be Natasha Babineaux and Madison Babineaux. Lector will be Betty Comb. Jerry LeGros, soloist, accompanied by Raphael Henry, will sing the musical selections for the Mass. Altar servers will be Kenneth Babineaux II and Dallas Tyler Babineaux.
Survivors include one daughter, Tina Breaux and her husband Gary of Duson; two sons, Ricky Babineaux and his wife Jeannie of Romance, Arkansas and Kenneth Babineaux and his wife Cheryl of Lafayette; two brothers, John Conley Sonnier and Benjamin Sonnier both of Abbeville; and five grandchildren, Garrett Breaux of Duson, Kenneth Babineaux, II of Lafayette, Dallas Tyler Babineaux of Lafayette, Natasha Babineaux and Madison Babineaux, both of Romance, Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dallas Babineaux; parents, Romelus and Rita Callahan Sonnier; and one brother, Albert H. Sonnier.
A native of Abbeville and a resident of Lafayette, Louisiana, Juanita Babineaux was a former board member of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, and a member of the Ladies Altar Society, Acadiana Bird Club, Northside Backers Club and Lafayette Parish Bus Drivers Association. She was a retired school bus driver having served for 18 years with the Lafayette Parish School System. She was a loving mother, grandmother, wife, sister and friend to all who knew her and will be dearly missed. Her love for children and their love for her was apparent by the nick name of "Miss Bee" in which she was affectionately known.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Babineaux, Kenneth Babineaux, Gary Breaux, Garrett Breaux, Ben Sonnier, Darrel Comb.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Kenneth Babineaux, II and Dallas Tyler Babineaux.
A Rosary will be prayed by the Teurlings Ladies Auxiliary on Sunday, September 16, 2007 at 7:00 PM in the funeral home.
The family requests that visitation be observed on Sunday from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM and on Monday from 8:00 AM until time of services at Martin & Castille Funeral Home.
