My information indicates that this is indeed Robert Edley Clinkingbeard, son of Robert Augusta Clinkingbeard (1788-1949). Robert Edley's son was Robert Alexander (1846-1926). The name "Elder" may have been used in the same sense as the term "Senior." So either Robert Edley or Robert Augusta may have been referred to at one time or another as "Robert Elder" to distinguish him from a still-living son of the same name. That is my understanding of this situation.
