Kyla May Helvey, age 21, of Everett, WA, beloved daughter of Ron and Brenda Helvey, and sister of Ryan Helvey passed unexpectedly from this world on September 11, 2007.
Klya leaves behind her parents; brother; great-grandmother, Viola Savage; grandparents, Nancy Helvey, Bill Tarbox, Gail and Tom Higgins; aunts and uncles, Darlene and Bill Smith, Colleen Crawford, John Crawford, Brent and Jody Helvey, Keith and Kelly Helvey, and Billy and Angie Tarbox; and numerous great-aunts, uncles, and extended family and friends. Kyla with be remembered with love and special memories by her cousins, Renae, Amber, Jamie, Katie, Brent, Trista, Chad, Kelcey, Kacie, K-2, Laura, Paul, Macy, Gunnar and Lily.
Kyla was preceded in death by her beloved grandfather, Ron Helvey; uncle, Brandon Richard Tarbox; and nephew, Brandon James Tarbox.
Kyla graduated from Snohomish High School in 2004 and later received an Associates Degree from Ashmead College.
As a youngster Kyla competed in archery competitions, excelled in soccer, baseball and especially basketball. Kyla loved the outdoors and with her family they spent many hours together pursuing this passion. Kyla was an excellent bow hunter, a sport that she shared with her family especially her father who will always miss his hunting partner. Kyla's mother will always miss their special mother-daughter relationship that led to many fun and happy outings together. Her brother will always miss his friend, her teasing, fun sense of humor and wonderful "gotcha" smile as will all her family and friends. Her beautiful singing voice and love of country western music, especially Wynona Judd, led to a couple of unforgettable impromptu solos on stage with Wynona. She was a creative, kind and a generous individual who had much to offer and many roads yet to travel.
Kyla loved all her family, immediate and extended and always cherished her time with them. She was especially proud of her brother, her mother was her best friend and her dad was her hero. Her passing is an overwhelming loss to her family but her smile and her laughter will always be with them.
Her family and friends will always miss her but in their hearts she will be forever the vivacious, creative and beautiful young woman who brought much joy to their lives.
A memorial service celebrating Kyla's life will be held at 1 p.m., on Saturday, September 15, 2007, at Bauer Funeral Chapel 701 -1st St, Snohomish, WA.
