Veteran of World War II. Served in the Coast Guard Merchant Marine Service as a Chief Radio Officer Lt. JG. Served on "Liberty Ships" transporting troops and supplies across the North Atlantic and North Africa and returning POWs to the United States. Extracted from obituary in the San Antonio Express News, August 26, 2006.
