Bryant S. Hinckley, writer, educator and church worker, will mark his 92nd birthday anniversary Thursday at a quiet observance in the family home.

The author of historical, biographical and religious books, the Utahn also has written manuals, textbooks and articles for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In his church work, Mr. Hinckley served for 22 years as president and in the high council of Liberty LDS Stake. A member of the original Salt Lake Stake high council, he also was a member of the general board of the Mutual Improvement Assn. Mr. Hinckley also served a mission for the LDS Church to the northern states.

He was born July 9, 1867, in Coalville, to Ira Nathaniel and Angeline Noble Hinckley. The family also lived in Fillmore and Cove Fort.

Mr. Hinckley served as a teacher in Frisco, Beaver County, and later attended Brigham Young University, Provo, and was graduated in 1889. He was employed as an instructor at the university. He later became principal of the LDS Business College and served for 26 years as general secretary and manager of Deseret Gymnasium.

Mr. Hinckley married Lois Anderson in Salt Lake City on June 20, 1944.

Included in Mr. Hinckley's family of 11 sons and daughters are H. Grant Hinckley, Albuquerque, N.M.; Mrs. Don (Sylvia) Wadsworth, Panaca, Nev.; Mrs. C. Alfred (Lucile) Laxman; Mrs. Tracy Y. (Carol) Cannon; Mrs. Lester (Venice) Nielsen; Mrs. O. Preston (Christine) Robinson; Mrs. Joseph (Ruth) Willes; Mrs. Patrick (Ramona) Sullivan; R. Waldo Hinckley, Gordon B. Hinckley, and Sherman R. Hinckley all of Salt Lake City.
