Their Children:

A Grandmother Remembers:
Mary's paternal grandmother, Phebe Deuel, remembered her in her will dated 1877 (Marion, Wayne Co., NY). She writes "Forth, I give and bequeath to my grand-daughter Mary F. Duel, daughter of Alonzo Duel, my parlor bedroom bureau."
Mary was the 'only' grandchild (of many!) mentioned in the will. It goes to show the special bond that existed between her and Grandmother Phebe. Mary would have been 25 years old and already married to Tyler when she received the parlor bedroom bureau.
