A chapel committal service for James P. Adler, 51, of Spring Grove since 1988, formerly of Chicago and Niles, will be held at 1 p.m. today, at Maryhill Catholic Cemetery, Niles. Born August 27, 1949, in Chicago, he died Sunday, August 27, 2000, at home. Mr. Adler was a former of St. Julianna Catholic Church in Niles. He was formerly employed as an automobile mechanic for Marshall White Golf Mill Ford, and Schaumburg's Nissan, Toyota and Chrysler dealerships. Most recently, he had been employed with Abrasive Rubber Wheel Company in Fox Lake. Racing and working on cars was his hobby as well as his job, and he started as a car racing mechanic in 1967. He was a member of the Auto Mechanics Union and enjoyed drawing and fishing. Survivors include his sons, Scott Adler of Lake in the Hills and Michael Adler of Des Plaines; and grandchildren, Richard, Jacqueline and Christine Adler. He was preceded in death by his mother, Gladys Zengerle. Arrangements were made by the K.K. Hamsher Funeral Home, Fox Lake. For information, (847) 587-2100.
