Georgia Snider, daughter of the late George Arthur Evans and Golden Virginia Bowman Evans, was born April 29, 1927, at Dexter and died in the Missouri Delta Medical Center at Sikeston on Tuesday, July 17, 2007, at the age of 80.
Ms. Snider was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dexter where she was a member of the choir for 50 years and had taught Sunday School for 30 years, a member of the Dexter Hospital Auxiliary, a homemaker and a resident of rural Dexter.
She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law: Sandy and Bob Hill of Cape Girardeau, Cheryl and Mike Ponder of Benton, and Terry and Scott Acre of West Linn, Ore.; three granddaughters, Emily Scifers, Lezlie Scifers and Hannah Acre.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Lucille Rainey; two brothers, George Edwin Evans and Charles Evans.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday, July 20, 2007, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 21, 2007, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Dr. Curtis Porter officiating.
Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Dexter First Baptist Church.
