Mrs. Leta Odessa Simpson Taylor, age 73, of Barnesville, passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2007 in a Macon Healthcare Facility. Mrs. Taylor was a native of Lexington, Oklahoma, but had lived in Barnesville for a number of years. Daughter of the late Mr. Ovid Cecil Simpson and the late Mrs. Alli Vera Wilson Simpson, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Cynthia "Cindy" Taylor, by just a few hours. Mrs. Taylor had previously been employed by Sears in Macon, where she developed their inventory system. Mrs. Taylor was a member of the Milner Baptist Church, where she was also a Sunday School Teacher.
Survivors include: Her Husband - Mr. David Lee Taylor of Barnesville ; Her Son - Mr. David Taylor, Jr. of Barnesville ; Her Sister - Carolyn Pergl of La Puente, CA ; Her Brother - Danny Simpson of Arizona ; 4 Grandchildren ; & 9 Great Grandchildren.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Leta Taylor will be held in conjunction with the services for her daughter, Cindy, on Monday, July 16, 2007 at 2 O' Clock in the Milner Baptist Church with Rev. Ben Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in the Milner Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends here at the funeral home Sunday (7-15-07) evening from 6pm until 8pm.
