Mrs. Dessie Allen passed away at the Good Samaritan Home in Nelson, Monday, Feb. 19 at the age of 87. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 22 at 2:00 p.m. at the Nora Methodist Church, Nora, Nebraska, with Rev. Maurice Holt officiating. Interment will be in the Oak cemetery.

Mrs. Dessie Pearl Allen, daughter of John and Emily Jones, was born Aug. 3, 1881, at Friend, Neb., and died Feb. 19, 1968 at the Good Samaritan Home in Nelson at the age of 86 years, 6 months and 16 days.

With her family she moved to Oak, Neb., when she was five years old and lived in that community until 1961 when she moved to Nelson. She became a member of the church at Oak in early life, and with her daughter, Emily, and husband, Elmer, united with the Methodist Church of Nora April 2, 1950. In this faith she lived and died.

On Oct. 9, 1901, she was united in marriage to Elmer B. Allen. To this union six children were born.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer; two sons, Charles and Harold; one daughter, Emily, and one granddaughter, Geraldine Malpert, of Johnson, Neb.

Surviving are two sons. Job Allen of Fort Morgan, Colo., and Loyd Allen of Sacramento, Calif.; one daughter, Mrs. Alvin Malpert (Julietta) of Johnson, Neb.; three grandsons; two great granddaughters; three step grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Orpha Due of York, Neb., and one brother, Ivan Jones, of Auburn, Calif.

The funeral service was held Thursday, Feb. 22, at the Nora Methodist Church with Rev. Maurice Holt officiating and the Klawitter Funeral Service in charge. Internment was in the Oak cemetery.
