She was born in 1919 in Uniontown, Pennsylvania to Frank and Katlin (Mesteliare) Kovach. On October 11, 1941 she married John Amenson who preceded her in death as did her 11 siblings. She is survived by one daughter, Jacklyn Gamble, and three sons, Roger (Suzanne), Richard (Karen) and Glen (Gloria); nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and beloved nieces and nephews.
