Rosa was born in Green Ridge, Pettis Co., Missouri to William Henry and Lovina Jane (Long) Hanning. She was the sister of Luther Daniel, Lilley Jane, William Henry Jr., Asie Eldrege, Bertha Ellen, Mary May, Lovina Theresa, George Albert and James Sylvester. She married Gurney Douglas Parker on March 25, 1914 in Henry Co., Missouri. She was the mother of Gladys Pearl and Paul Douglas.

Pueblo Chieftain, April 18, 1984- Rosa E. Parker, Pueblo resident since 1928, late of 434 Alma, passed away April 16, 1984. Mrs. Parker was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church. She is survived by a son, Paul (Jean) Parker of Pueblo; a daughter, Gladys (Milt) Deason of Gilbert, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a great-great grandchild; two sisters, Bertha Miller of Clinton,Mo., and Lovina Bailey of Kansas City, Kan.; a brother, George Hanning of Clinton, Mo.; and numerous nieces and nephews. She wa preceded in death by her husband, Gurney D. Parker, in 1955. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Adrian Comer Garden Chapel, with the Rev. Christine R. Monro, Trinity United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment, Roselawn Cemetery Cemetery. The family may be contacted at 101 Carrillon.
